About

I have been a professional designer for over 20 years, working with companies of all sizes ranging from international corporations to local start-ups. As a graphic designer, my work is very detail-oriented and that same attention to detail carries over to my photography. Whether it’s discovering a new angle or finding a rare pop of color, I always look to capture elements of interest that might otherwise be overlooked in a way that’s uniquely my own.

My parents gave me my first camera when I was just 10 years old so I could photograph the "wild life" on a field trip to the zoo. I was immediately fascinated by the ability to recognize and preserve a special moment in time. My love of looking at life through a lens has continued to grow and my subject matter has evolved along the way.

Prior to moving to Lake View, Iowa, in 2015, my focus was on landscape and macro (close-up) photography, but I've since developed a fascination with the area’s local wildlife. I enjoy the challenges that come with trying to get close-up details and having to move quickly to get the shot, without having an ability to pose the subject or adjust the lighting. My artful eye also has a great appreciation for the ever-present beauty of changing seasons around Black Hawk Lake and beyond.

While I'm perhaps most well-known for my scenic landscapes and wildlife images, my visual interpretations of historic sites and special events have become customer favorites as well. My photography experience has also become a huge asset to my clients when they have specific image needs, particularly those requiring outdoor photography. I hope you find something you enjoy in my Frolic Photography shop!  - Anji
